Iran shorts to go on screen in Cyprus

A lineup of seven Iranian short films has been scheduled to go on screen at the 5th International Motion Festival in Cyprus.

One of the titles selected to be screened at the film event is Sadeq Javadi-Nikjeh’s ‘The Fox’ at the ‘Animatropics & Animation’ section.

Mohammad Bakhshi’s ‘Are You Volleyball?!’, Behzad Khodaveisi’s ‘A Gift for a Gloomy Day’, ‘Raheel’ by Ayat Asadi-Rahbar, ‘The Party’ by Saba Qasemi, and Arian Vazir-Daftari’s ‘Like a Good Kid’ will be screened at the ‘Short & Sweet’ section of the festival.

The seventh announced Iranian title is ‘Light’ directed by Reza Golchin that is chosen for competing at the ‘The Single Channel Show’ section of the film event.

Golchin’s flick, nominated for an award, shows some students and their classrooms in the mountainous city of Talesh in north of Iran.

The International Motion Festival has set its aim as showcasing the most recent and most creative cinematic works.

The latest edition of the film event is slated for May 6-9, 2019.
